We had a really good time this past weekend. On Friday, after Rick got out of work, we went up to the cottage for a little getaway. Chevy went swimming in the lake, but other than that, we didn't do too much except lounge around. We also tried to make popcorn on the stove and these little key lime bars. Neither turned out well.
Our popcorn (this was attempt #2... worse than the first)
Into the trash it goes

These were also failures... I didn't take a picture of how gross they looked
On Saturday I cleaned most of the house while Rick was still at the cottage helping his dad put the pontoon boat in. That night we met our friends Holly and Ryan and went out to the Tulip Time Festival in Holland. We were freezing while watching the fireworks but afterward we went to a brewery and got some drinks. It was really fun. Their friends from Chicago were in town for a graduation and joined us. They were super nice and easy to be around. We didn't get home until almost 2 in the morning, which is crazy for us. Usually we go to bed at 10, haha, we're lame.
My sexy husband.. haha

On Sunday, which was mother's day, we woke up and watched a church service online. Lauren and Jeff's church in Ohio is awesome and Anna and Will were dedicated during the service. We couldn't see them on the video, but we heard their names! My parents came over and cut our church viewing short because they were on a walk and we wanted to go. I hadn't seen them for a week because they were in Florida (jerks!) and they came back all tan...err. We walked up to their house and hung out there for a while. Then, we went to Lowes and bought a bunch of plants to make our landscaping look better. I'll post some pictures once it's completed, cuz it still looks pathetic right now. Later, we went back to my parents house for my mom's annual mother's day KFC meal and then we went over to Rick's parents to visit w/ them and his grandparents.
It was a very good weekend. I was a little bummed that Chevy did not get his mom anything for mother's day... haha, not really.
